The CVCS "web marketplace" plan, in which we will have a page attached to the CVCS home page with links to web-based stores. This plan was discussed with the Governing Council (GC) at the last meeting. Russ plans to produce a prototype page that GC members can examine before final approval.
The proposed January 26 fundraising lunch for the Rio Fest Environmental Film Festival participants (see the Rio Fest Web site for details). Francie has volunteered to coordinate this event. As noted at the last GC meeting, the plan is to serve a locally grown meal to the participants. Francie has talked to the Masons, and they have agreed to host the lunch. She has also begun to contact local growers. In order to increase the likelihood of contributions from this group, we propose a fundraising goal of money to build an environmentally friendly bus shelter (i.e., straw bale or adobe construction, salt cedar latillas, etc.). Preliminary consultation with members of the Facilities Committee has been made and there will be discussion of the proposed shelter at the upcoming GC meeting.
In an earlier meeting we discussed the possibility of having a "green fest" at the school at the same time, but given time constraints, we decided to postpone this activity and have the lunch as a stand-alone event.
