A special budget meeting was held in the main office of Cottonwood Valley Charter School at 5 pm on Thursday, 6/29/06. Present: Mary Cox, Mary Nutt, Russell Wrenn, Richard Sonnenfeld Not Present: Ruth Milner, Delilah Walsh The purpose of the meeting was to review the budget for the remodeling work occurring after the demolition. Mary Cox presented the following facts: 1st year Bond Funding - $154,801 (in bank) Special Leg. Approp. $75,000 (must be applied for -- it has been requested for the hospital demolition work but not yet approved). Budget items for Contracted Services $35,000. Coronado Demolition Costs $103,000 (all inclusive) Remainder of funds ~$160,000 Remainder of funds actually available now ~$90,000 An overall budget for work to be done after completion of Hospital demolition (currently estimated at July 20) was presented. Line items were presented covering the following categories $12,000 shade structures $12,000 storage sheds (increased from 8,700) $2,100 playground equipment $1,600 handicapped parking, south side $1,700 drop-off area, north side $2,700 landscaping $630 signs $2,000 site coordinator $ ?? irrigation system $ ?? fencing > Though a spreadsheet initially totalling $31,430 was presented, the budget committee approved expenditures up to $40,000 because of expected upward pressure on pricing as plans were finalized and because the spreadsheet did not include an irrigation plan, which has been agreed to be an important part of this work. ------------------------------------------------ In other news, Mary N and I confirmed that Jim Shepherd will be the construction coordinator for this job. This temporary position was advertised and there were no additional applicants.
