Official CVCS School Dress Code for 2006-2007 School Year
Wearing appropriate clothing to school promotes a positive, productive learning environment. Students are expected to follow the CVCS school dress policy as stated in the CVCS Parent and Student Handbook.
· Shirts/blouses must be one solid color or stripes. Any color is permitted for shirts and blouses. Stripes can be vertical or horizontal. Checked or plaid shirts/blouses are not allowed.
· All shirts/blouses must have sleeves and a collar. Any style collar and sleeve is permitted. Turtleneck shirts/blouses are permitted.
· Shirts/blouses should not have any other designs. Logos 2” square in size or smaller are allowed.
· The pants/shorts/capris/skorts/skirts or jumpers should be of a solid neutral color (e.g., gray, black, brown, tan, olive green, forest green, white, khaki, or blue).
· Blue denim (“blue jean”) pants/shorts/skirts are not permitted.
· Sweat pants, fleece pants, knit athletic-type pants/shorts or spandex pants/shorts are not permitted.
· Outerwear (hats, sweaters, sweat shirts, jackets, etc.) are free choice, but T-shirts are not considered to be outerwear and may not be worn on top of shirts or blouses.
· For safety reasons, flip-flops and roller shoes (unless the rollers have been removed) are not allowed.
· Limited resources are available for families who need financial assistance with the purchase of clothes to comply with the dress code. Please address all questions about the policy to the administrator.
· CVCS will accept donations of used/outgrown school clothing in good condition that can be passed on to other families.
The following clothing and accessories are not appropriate:
· Flip-flop sandals and roller shoes (unless the rollers have been removed).
· Untied shoes, high heels, stocking feet, or bare feet.
· Gang-related attire.
· Pants with low-hanging crotches, or those worn below the hip bones.
· Tight or see-through clothing.
· Hairnets.
· Excessive piercing or tattoos.
· Spandex shorts.
· Visible undergarments.
· Hats, caps, bandannas worn indoors except for religious or medical reasons.
· Spiked jewelry or chains.
· Earrings that extend more than 1.5 inches below the lobe.
· Shorts or skirts shorter than fingertips when arm is held straight down.
