A. Enrollment Committee Report (Cheryl Passalaqua)—August 10th is the deadline for the last lottery.  The response to this lottery is the best yet.  This year’s lottery is a straight lottery by law. Next year, preference will be given first to returning students, then to siblings of returning students and then to any other applicants for enrollment.

B. Facilities Committee Report  (Jeanne Gacanich)—The back windows of the hospital build has been sealed with the metal sheets.  A fence has been placed around the ramp to the old boiler room.  Moises Gacanich donated many of the fencing materials.  Thank you very much!  Quotes for some of the jobs we have to contract out will be presented in the executive session.  Work sessions are planned for Thursday from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 12.  Please come to the work parties—we need all the help we can get.

C. Teacher Search Committee Report   (Cheryl Passalaqua)—3 teachers have signed on, 2 we offered contracts to have taken other positions and several offers are pending.

D.                School Lunches—Kim Hignight from the Boys and Girls Club presented sample menus for snacks, breakfasts and lunches.  These menus meet federal guidelines, though menus, portion sizes, etc can be tailored to meet any additional requirements of the school.  No decision on school lunches will be made until quotes from the other restaurants are reported.  Cost of school lunches will be determined when we have firm figures on the number of students at the school and the number of students qualifying for reduced/free lunches.

E.                 Curriculum (Francie Deters)

1. Mathematics curriculum - Math Explorations and Applications (published by SRA)

2. Science curriculum – NRSC
